Chhapana Bhoga is associated with the Mahaprasad (Avada) offered to Mahaprabhu Shree Jagannath as bhoga. This sacred offering tradition is closely connected with Anand Bazar at Shri Jagannath Temple.
The Chhapana Bhoga tradition includes Mahaprasad prepared through the temple’s distinctive steaming process in stacked earthen pots. There is an elaborate menu for different occasions. After the temple offering, Mahaprasad is made available in Anand Bazar within the temple premises.
The Rosa Ghara(kitchen )of the temple is believed to be the largest in the world where about four hundred Supakars(cooks) work on two hundred hearths to feed about ten thousand mouths every day.
