All Besha Of Shri Jagannath Mahaprabhu
Pralambasura Badha & Baman Besha
The Jagannath Temple in Puri continues to showcase the multifaceted nature of Lord Jagannath with the Pralambasura Badha Besha and Baman Besha, two unique attires that depict his triumph over evil and his divine transformations.
Pralambasura Badha Besha: This Besha, observed on Bhadraba Krushna Dwadasi (the 12th day of the dark fortnight in Bhadraba), commemorates the slaying of the demon Pralambasura by Lord Balabhadra, the elder brother of Lord Krishna. In this attire, Lord Balabhadra is adorned with ornaments and weapons, symbolizing his victory over the demon.
These Beshas offer a glimpse into the rich mythology and symbolism associated with Lord Jagannath. They highlight his role as a protector and a divine force that restores balance and righteousness.
