Water Abhishekam Ritual During the Snan Purnima of Sri Vigrahas
π After the priests achieve victory in the bathing ritual, they proceed to the golden pool (Suna Kua) in front of Maa Sheetala Devi, who is facing the north door of the temple of Mudirasta, Kalahiya, and Suna Gosain, after placing lamps (Diyans) at the bathing platform.
π Devotee servants meticulously clean and brighten the Suna Kua the previous night, and the Puja Panda performs a ritual purification of the well.
π Suna Goswami draws water from the Suna Kua and first keeps it in the Abhishekam (ritual offering) house.
π After the first check, the Mudirasta water is taken to the Abhishekam house, and the remaining three types of water are kept there. Later, the residual water is transferred to brass vessels.
π One hundred and eight Kalashas (pots) are prepared and kept in the Chahani Mandapa (a small pavilion) near the Abhishekam house, having been thoroughly cleaned the previous night.
π Among these 108 water pots, 35 are kept for Sri Jagannath, 33 for Sri Balabhadra, 22 for Devi Subhadra, and 18 for Sudarsana.
π At Ghatuarri Grah (house), sandalwood, camphor, saffron, and betel nuts are mixed together and held in a plate. The Garabadu (servants) then come to the Abhishekam house and equally divide the mixture into the 108 water pots. The Garabadu cover each of the 108 water pots with a piece of cloth and a small mound of soil.
π During this water Abhishekam, the atmosphere in the bathing platform becomes more vibrant with the lamps.
