Use of aguru
Aguru is a type of fragrant wood that is used in Jagannatha puja, the worship of Lord Jagannatha, the supreme god and the sovereign monarch of the Odishan empire¹. Aguru is one of the ingredients of the *Ballabh Bhog, a special offering made to the deities during the **Gopala Ballava Puja*, which is the time for breakfast of the deities²³. Aguru is also used to make incense sticks and perfumes that are offered to the deities as part of the rituals. Aguru is considered to be very auspicious and pleasing to Lord Jagannatha.
