Patali Srikhetra-Kujanga Gada-1568 A.D.
MAHAPRABHU SHREE JAGANNATH (BAPA) IS ABSOLUTE TRUE,
OTHER THAN HIM ARE RELATIVELY TRUE….
Even though he is the protecting shield of all but he has left his safeguard of his Shree Anga in our hands. Mahapravu is regulated by their devotees and is only proved by our Mahapravu Shree Jagannath.
Mahapravu has been Patali different times in different places of Odisha during Non-Hindu invasion of Shree Mandir. I am posting the Patali details of Mahapravu at Kujanga gadah & about great Bhakta of Bisar Mohanty.
Odisha entered a period of internecine feud and political instability in the middle of 16th century A.D. The sovereign authority grew weaker and weaker. At this fateful hour Suleman Quarani, the Nawab of Bengal, invaded Odisha in 1568 A.D. during the reign of Mukund Dev. He sent his general “Kalapad” to invade Odisha. Although the warrior Mukundadev showed great valour, he was defeated and killed in a battle near Jajpur. It is said that at the approach of Kalapahar to destroy the temple of Mahapravu Shree Jagannath, the priests of his temple partially buried Mahapravu’s idol near the sea shore of Kujang . at that time Bhakta Bisara Mohanty was there itself , always he was deeply drowned with Bhakti but people thought him mad. As the universe knows “Mahapravu’s Brahma” cant be destroyed or be burned. After Kalapahada burned the idol of Mahapravu , Bhakta Bisara Mohanty was there at he site and he collected the Brahma out of the ashes. The Murdanga(Instrument) that he plays always with Mahapravu Namah Sankirtan, he kept the holy “Mahapravu’s Brahma” inside this Mrudanga secretly. He buried it in his courtyard and after some days when he got some instructions from Mahapravu he gave the Brahma to Ananta Narendra Samant, the Raja of Kujanga. Then the Raja got a new deity constructed out of the wood of a “Neam” tree and placed the “Mahapravu’s Bramha” inside it and called it “Kunja-Bihari”. From this time onwards Kujanga figured as a place of pilgrimage. Then in the year 1588 A.D. the Raja Ramachandra Dev of the Gajapati dynasty of Khurdha brought the deity from Kujanga to Puri with great pomp and splendour. He got another deity constructed with the “Brahma” inside it and had it installed in the main temple in a ceremony called the “Navakalebara”. But since that time, another deity by the name of “Kunja Bihari” continues to be worshipped at Garh Kujang. Similarly the fisherman chief of Remit Garh of Kujang worshipped another deity called “Ramachandi Devi”. Fishermen used to worship this deity just before satting out on their voyages. This deity is still there inside a forest at a little distance from the False Point located at the mouth of the river Mahanadi. Subsequently all subjects of Kujang worshipped the deity, “Ramachandi Devi”.
Kalapahad tried his best to destroy the deity Ramachandi, but he failed in his attempt as the deity cheated him in disguise. However, another Raja, Gopinath Narendra of Kujang conquered Romit Garh after defeating its fisherman chief. After his death his son “Purosottam Narendra” become the raja of Kujang. He is known to have reigned for a period of 22 years, from 1052 Amali Sana to 1074, corresponding to 1645 A.D. to 1677 A.D. Meanwhile, the Afghan rule came to an end in Odisha and the Mughals rule commenced.
